Who we are
Ermetis is a small company built by an operator.
We are a small company, and we take on a few clients at a time on purpose, because each engagement depends on getting deep into the specifics of one business, and we cannot get that deep into many companies at once. The approach is human-centric: AI takes on the tasks it is suited for, and the jobs, and the judgment, stay with your people.
The founder
John Noland
- Performance improvement consulting
- Middle-market consulting
- PE-backed operating roles
- Atlanta
He spent the past decade in performance-improvement and turnaround consulting, then in middle-market operations and M&A consulting, and then inside private-equity-backed manufacturers in strategy and operating roles. He holds an MBA and undergraduate degrees in economics and biology, and he is based in Atlanta.
He started Ermetis after watching what happened inside those companies when they bought AI tools. Good businesses got very little from good tools, because the material the tools needed was scattered across systems, some of it was stale, versions of it conflicted, and the judgment that ran the business was in a few people’s heads. Fixing that is real work that somebody has to own, and because that role did not exist, he built the company around it.

How the company runs
Ermetis is founder-led.
We run AI inside our own business the same way we put it inside yours. Where a client’s problem needs expertise we do not have, we bring in partners we trust, and we say so. People get added when there is standing work for them.
We are not tied to any vendor or tool, and we take no referral fees from anyone. When we recommend a tool, nothing comes back to us for it. The business model is a long-term relationship, so our only interest is in what actually works.
If Ermetis were ever unavailable, your company would keep everything. The system runs in your own accounts, everything we set up is documented inside it, and it is built so your company could run it without us.
Why Ermetis exists
The usual ways to implement AI have not worked well for most companies.
Buying a tool is the most common approach.
It answers confidently from conflicting, outdated information, and people learn they cannot trust it.
Only 46% of people are willing to trust AI systems, and 56% of users report making mistakes in their work because of unverified AI output. KPMG, 2025
Hiring a consulting firm is the second approach.
The consultants leave, and running what they built falls to people with full-time jobs.
Nearly half of AI proofs-of-concept never reach production: the average organization scrapped 46% of them. S&P Global, 2025
Building the capability in-house is the third approach.
It takes someone who knows AI and your business, working on it continuously.
The barrier the OECD found cited most often is the lack of in-house expertise. OECD, 2025
What we are
Ermetis fills that role as a fractional member of your team.
You are getting an expert in putting AI to work inside a business. We work inside your company, with your people, closely enough to make it work.
It is fractional, so there is no added headcount. The knowledge and everything built on it belong to your company, and starting with one scoped project is a normal front door.
